Privacy Policy

Last updated

Quillquest (inkling.top) publishes reference material about writing and reading poetry. This page explains what happens to information when you read it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

Information we collect

There is no account to create and no form on this site that collects personal information. There is nothing to submit and no draft to upload. The one preference the site stores — whether line numbers are shown next to a poem — is kept in your own browser's local storage on your device; it is never transmitted to us and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data removes it.

If you email [email protected] we receive your address and whatever you write. We keep it only as long as needed to answer you, and we do not add it to a mailing list.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Third parties described below may set cookies in your browser when they serve advertising or measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; every entry, specimen and note remains readable with cookies disabled and with JavaScript turned off.

Third-party advertising (Google AdSense)

We intend to display advertising served by Google and its partners. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

  • Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie and similar identifiers for interest-based advertising.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com
  • You can opt out of interest-based advertising from many vendors at https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and, in Europe, at https://www.youronlinechoices.eu/
  • Where the law requires it, a consent notice is shown before any non-essential cookie is set, and advertising cookies are not set until you agree.

Analytics

We may measure aggregate traffic — page views, referrers, approximate country — to understand which entries are useful. These measurements are reported to us in aggregate and are not used to identify individuals. Where a jurisdiction requires consent for analytics cookies, they are set only after you agree.

Third-party links

Entries link to public-domain sources and, occasionally, to reference works. We do not control those sites and their privacy practices are their own. Read their policies before providing information to them.

Your rights (GDPR and CCPA)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Requests can be sent to [email protected] and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Children

This site is written for adults and older students working on their own writing, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it, and material changes are described in the revised text rather than made silently.
